Green Team

We believe that we are called to be caretakers of creation and advocates for the environment.

Our Green Team does many things and is currently working toward becoming certified as a Green Church. Currently we are certified at Level 1 and plan to continue this process. In our congregation and in our community we:

• Educate and advocate for environmental awareness

• Host an Annual Green Expo, a day of environmentally friendly exhibitors and products

• Work toward becoming a designated “Green Church”

• Encourage food scrap diversion and composting

• Organize quarterly litter pick-ups

• Plant trees

• Encourage walking and biking

• Collect textiles to recycle

• Conserve energy and promote solar power

• Use safe, organic lawn products

• Reduce our use of paper and plastics to become a “Zero Waste” church

• Hold book discussions on environmental issues
